Talc, a metamorphic mineral, evolves through the metamorphism of magnesian minerals in the presence of carbon dioxide and water, resulting in talc carbonation and the formation of talc carbonates. Rare monoclinic crystals, coupled with perfect basal cleavage and slightly flexible non-elastic folia, characterize this mineral, which holds the distinction of being the softest on Mohs’ scale. We provide talc in a pristine white powder form, showcasing a pearly luster.
